Transmission und Stabilität kulturellen Kapitals im Lebenslauf und seine Wirkung auf den Prozess des Statuserwerbs
Zusammenfassung: Wie mehrere Untersuchungen zeigen, hat sich die bereits zu Beginn der 60er Jahre kritisierte soziale Ungleichheit im deutschen Bildungssystem nicht bzw. nur in Hinblick auf einen leichteren Zugang zur Realschulbildung verändert. Prominent als Erklärungsansatz für dieses Phänomen ist nach wie vor die Reproduktionstheorie von Pierre Bourdieu. Auf der Basis einer 19-Jahres follow-up Studie, die von 16 Jahren bis ins mittlere Erwachsenenalter reicht, untersucht der vorliegende Artikel die Wirkung des kulturellen Kapitals der Familie auf unterschiedliche Stadien im Statuserwerbsprozeß.
Abstract: The results of several surveys display the persistence of a strong social inequality in the German educational system since the late 60ies of the last century. A central theoretical tool for the explanation of these findings is the reproduction theory of Pierre Bourdieu. On the background of this theory this paper analyses the effects of cultural capital on the status attainment process by means of a 19-years follow-up survey (between the ages of 16 and 35).
